Camerawork: For establishing shot the camera slowly zooms into the front of the boat and then into a close up image of the young girl, Elizabeth, singing. There is then an over the shoulder shot of the mans hand on Elizabeths shoulder from behind and then a quick reaction shot from her as she is surprised.
There is another shot reverse shot is used when the man and Elizabeth are talking about pirates and how they are meant to be feared. There is a tracking shot of the captain when he gives order to his crew after receiving William Turner onboard and realiseing pirates are near.
There is a close up shot of Elizabeths hands as she holds Williams medallion. Lastly, there was another close up shot right at the end of the clip of Elizabeths eyes.

Editing: There is a slow fade at the start from the title to the establishing shot of the boat. The style of the clip all the wat through is continuity editing as it carries on throughout. It is also fast paced as the timing between each shot is fast paced.

Mise-en-Scene: The costumes relate well to the film and the genre and the time period that the film was set in. The lighting is very dull which portrays a eerie atmosphere adding to the suspense and mystery. The body language of the captain is very strong and powerful portaying his leadership and authority. The colour design was also very dark and gloomy which gave a powerful effect on the start of the flim which draws you in and makes the whole film seem more mysterious.

Sound: There is an eerie non-diagetic sound throuout the the opening clip, it is louder at the start and gently dies away as it goes through, however it is still there very faintly. And when the girl is singing at the start it is a diagetic sound which mirrors the eerie sound beneath it as the song is quicte creepy. When the pirates have been discovered there is slightly louder action sounds.

The opening title sequence ends at 4:40. It ends with a close up shot of Elizabeths eyes and then switches to a new clip using a graphic match shot of an older Elizabeth's eyes.
